Fun Agility Training Classes
(for all ages and breeds!)
As from September 2001 we are able to offer FUN Agility classes, for all
levels from Beginner to Advanced.
We have a full 'competition size' kit. All our
classes are based on fun, although we can
also accommodate the serious
competitor in our advanced class.

Where are the classes held?
We hold our classes every Sunday (except Bank Holiday Weekend's), at Whisby
Garden Centre, which is just off the A46 (Lincoln By-pass), just opposite the
Pride of Lincoln Pub.

How much does it Cost?
£65.00 (non members) - For a course of 10 sessions
£45.00 (members) - For a course of 10 sessions
(sessions need not be taken consecutively).
On completions of initial course of 10 sessions, you are welcome to attend on a
'pay-by-session' basis. £2.50 (MBF members)
£4.00 (non members)
Sunday's
Beginners Agility - Starts 11.00am
Intermediate Agility - Starts 1.00pm
Advanced Agility - 2.00pm onwards
Each class lasts for approximately an hour and fifteen minutes, with a 15 minute coffee
break afterwards.
CLASSES RUN FROM MARCH - DECEMBER
(WEATHER
PERMITTING - Except Bank Holiday Weekend's).
All our classes are based on FUN for you and your Dog.

We
are very safety conscious, and pride ourselves in getting it right for each
individual dog and handler, first time! If a dog becomes scared of a piece of
equipment because of a slip or fall, then it is ten times as hard to get the dog
over that piece of kit again.
We ask that if a dog has never been on a piece of
Agility equipment, that a harness is worn, until the dog and the handler are
confident with what it is expected. Quite a safety measure to take, but a
beneficial one.
Frequently
Asked Questions:
![]()
How old does a dog have to be to enjoy
an Agility Class safely?
It has to be at least 1 year old.
Can children take part in the Agility
Class?
Yes, so long as they are able to physically
control the dog, and carry out the necessary tasks to make this safe and
enjoyable for them and their dog.
I have a small dog; can I take part in
an Agility Class?
Yes of course, we just have to make a few
adjustments to the equipment, and the smaller dog can also enjoy Agility.
My dog is not friendly with other dogs
can I still bring it to an Agility Class?
So long as we are aware of your dog's
nature before starting any of our classes, we can usually accommodate you and
your dog.
My dog does not like other people; can
I still come to Agility Classes?
We would have to assess this sort of problem;
the difficulty with this problem is when you are in the early stages of training
your dog to use the equipment. Without a doubt, you are going to need someone
else to hold the lead for you. E.g. When you need your dog to go through the
tunnel, you would go to the end of the tunnel, and the instructor will hold the
dog at the beginning of the tunnel, when you call the dog through the tunnel,
the instructor lets go of the lead, and you retrieve your dog at the end of the
tunnel. This can be dangerous for the instructor, if the dog is particularly
nasty with people. (The tunnel is also a piece of equipment that is almost
impossible to conquer with an inexperienced dog, without some assistance from an
instructor.)
I have done some Agility with my dog
before, we are quite confident with Agility equipment, which class should I come
to?
That is no problem at all, pop along to the
Intermediate class.
I compete in Agility regularly and
would like to use a different area, with different equipment & distractions,
could I come to one of MBF's Agility Classes?
Yes just pop along to our Advanced class,
the equipment is already set out; we are there to assist should you need us.
Is the Agility
Class held indoors or
outdoors?
The class is held outside on a grassed
area. If the weather is not going to oblige, we will call the class off for
safety reasons.

We are a social group, and hold various doggy get-togethers,
we have had many successful Christmas Celebration parties for the dogs over the years,
which have been thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
